Yes. Mediczech works only with accredited hospital and experienced, board-certified surgeons. Your health and safety are carefully assessed before surgery, and you will be closely monitored throughout your stay in Prague.

3. How do I arrange my tummy tuck consultation if I live abroad?

Most patients start with an online consultation. You will complete a medical questionnaire and send photos of your tummy area. This allows your surgeon to evaluate your case and create a personalized treatment plan before you travel.

4. Do I need to send photos before booking my surgery?

Yes, photos are an essential part of planning your abdominoplasty abroad. They help the surgeon assess if you are a good candidate for some kind of abdominoplasty and whether your tummy tuck can be combined with other procedures, such as liposuction.

5. How long should I plan to stay in Prague after my tummy tuck?

We recommend staying 4–6 days in Prague after your tummy tuck. This ensures enough time for recovery, follow-up checks, and safe removal of drains or stitches if required.

6. Can I combine my tummy tuck with other cosmetic procedures?

Yes. Many patients choose to combine a tummy tuck with liposuction or breast surgery during one trip. Your surgeon will confirm what is safe based on your medical history and consultation.

7. What kind of post-operative care will I receive in Prague?

You will be looked after by our experienced doctors and nurses. Regular check-ups ensure proper healing, and you will receive detailed aftercare instructions for your recovery at home.

19. When can I remove the white tape covering the scars?

The tape should remain on the scars for about 7–10 days. Until your first check-up, you don’t need to do anything with it. If necessary, you may spray disinfectant over it. The tape protects the wound and the stitches well.

20. Can I go to a solarium if I cover my scars?

Definitely not during the first two months. We recommend waiting at least 12 months, and even then the scars should be covered. Always use creams with a high SPF.

21. How soon after surgery can I go for a massage?

We recommend avoiding massages for the first two months after surgery.

22. How soon after surgery can I drive?

For the first three weeks, we recommend limiting arm movements. After that, you can drive without any problems. If necessary, you may drive earlier, but please do so with caution.

23. When can I start exercising?

After surgery, try to start walking as soon as possible. Avoid strenuous physical activity for 4 weeks, and do not put strain on the abdominal area for 6 weeks after surgery. After removing the compression belt (around 8 weeks), you may gradually begin exercising. Always listen to your body!

24. How long do I need to wear compression stockings?

Compression stockings are made from elastic material and fit snugly from the calves up to the thighs. The pressure continuously “squeezes” the leg muscles, which helps improve blood flow back to the heart. They also reduce swelling and prevent blood clots.

We recommend wearing the stockings continuously for the first 48 hours after surgery under general anaesthesia, and then for an additional 10–14 days.

25. When can I start drinking alcohol?

Do not consume alcohol while taking pain medication. It is also recommended to avoid alcohol for about 3 weeks after surgery due to fluid retention in the body.

26. Do I need to reschedule my surgery if I have my period?

It is not necessary to reschedule the surgery, but please be aware of a slightly higher risk of bleeding and possible complications during the post-operative period.

27. Why do my nails need to be free of nail polish?

Nail polish can interfere with oxygen saturation monitoring. During surgery, we use sensors on your fingers, so it is usually enough to remove polish from just one finger or your toenails.

14. What if I have complications after returning home?

Complications are rare, but if they occur, we will support you remotely and guide you on next steps. Corrective procedures are usually covered under our terms and conditions (excluding travel costs).

15. How much does a tummy tuck in Prague cost compared to my home country?

Prices for a tummy tuck in Prague are typically 30–50% lower than in the UK, Ireland, or Western Europe. Even when factoring in travel and accommodation, most patients find that choosing abdominoplasty abroad with Mediczech offers excellent value without compromising on quality or safety.

16. What can happen if I don’t follow the post-operative instructions exactly?

Rest is very important, so please make sure to follow it carefully. Otherwise, you may unnecessarily prolong the healing period or even compromise the desired result. By adhering to the post-operative guidelines, you will also avoid unpleasant complications. During the recovery period, you will need to wear a compression belt for about 4–6 weeks. We also recommend scar massage to help make them less visible in the future.

17. Can I sleep on my stomach or side after the surgery?

For several weeks after the operation, we recommend sleeping on your back with your head elevated. Place pillows under your knees to reduce tension in the abdominal area.

18. How long will I have drains?

Drains are usually removed before you leave the clinic, typically two days after surgery (provided everything is healing well).

28. Should I bring any special clothing?

Bring pajamas, a robe, and slippers. We recommend loose, comfortable clothing, as you may be swollen and sore while wearing the compression belt after surgery.

29. Do I need to shave my intimate areas?

No, you do not need to. If necessary, we will shave the area for you before surgery.

30. When can I have sex again?

You may resume sexual activity once you have stopped wearing the compression garment, typically after 6–8 weeks.

31. Will you remove my stitches?

We use traditional non-absorbable sutures that need to be removed later. However, absorbable sutures, which do not require removal and result in a finer scar, are becoming increasingly popular. Both of our surgeons use these absorbable sutures.

32. Why do I need to wear the compression belt for so long? Can I replace it with shaping underwear?

We recommend wearing the compression belt 24 hours a day for 4–6 weeks after surgery. Remove it only for personal hygiene. After this period, it should be worn during any strenuous activity. The belt helps you move more easily and is very important for achieving the desired result.

33. Is there an age limit for the surgery?

There is only a lower age limit: 18 years.

34. Can I get up and walk immediately after surgery?

No, immediately after the surgery you cannot get up due to the extent of the procedure. A catheter will be placed for urination. You will be able to get up for the first time the following morning, and the nurse will assist you.
