How long after breastfeeding should I wait before breast augmentation?
It is recommended to wait until breastfeeding has completely finished and your breasts have stabilised before surgery. Many surgeons recommend waiting several months after breastfeeding has stopped. Your surgeon will assess your breasts during the consultation and confirm when you are ready for the procedure. Usually we recommend to wait 12 months.

Do I need a breast ultrasound or mammogram before surgery?
Depending on your age, medical history and individual circumstances, your surgeon may recommend a breast ultrasound or mammogram before surgery. The examination helps assess your breast tissue and identify any findings that may need further investigation. If you do not have recent breast imaging from your home country, we can help arrange the examination in Prague.

What medications and supplements should I tell my surgeon about?
Tell your surgeon about all medications, vitamins, dietary supplements and herbal products you are taking. Some medicines and supplements can affect bleeding or interact with anaesthesia or other medication. Do not stop taking prescribed medication without consulting your doctor.
-
Can I prepare for surgery through my diet or supplements?
A balanced diet, sufficient hydration, good sleep and a healthy lifestyle are the best ways to prepare your body for surgery. We do not recommend starting dietary supplements specifically for surgery without discussing them with your doctor. Some supplements may increase the risk of bleeding or interact with medication.
-
Do I need to postpone surgery if I have my period?
Having your period does not automatically mean that breast augmentation needs to be postponed. However, let your medical team know if you expect to have your period around the time of surgery. Your surgeon will advise you based on your individual circumstances and any medication you may be taking.

Why do I need to remove nail polish before surgery?
During surgery, your vital signs are continuously monitored, including your blood oxygen level using a pulse oximeter placed on your finger. Nail polish, particularly dark or gel polish, can sometimes interfere with the reading. For this reason, you may be asked to remove nail polish or gel polish before surgery.

What should I bring with me to the clinic?
Bring comfortable clothing that is easy to put on and take off. We recommend:
- comfortable pyjamas
- a dressing gown
- slippers
- loose-fitting clothes
- a shirt, cardigan or sweatshirt that opens at the front
Front-opening clothing is particularly useful during the first days after surgery when arm movement may be limited.
-
Can I have breast augmentation if I am planning a pregnancy?
Yes, breast augmentation can be performed before pregnancy. However, pregnancy can naturally change the size, shape and position of the breasts and may affect the cosmetic result of the surgery. If you are planning a pregnancy in the near future, discuss this with your surgeon before deciding on the procedure.

Can breast implants affect breastfeeding?
Breast implants do not automatically prevent breastfeeding. Many women are able to breastfeed after breast augmentation. However, the ability to breastfeed can be affected by several factors, including the surgical technique, incision location and individual anatomy. If breastfeeding is important to you, discuss this with your surgeon before surgery.
