For all my life I‘ve had weight problems. Even though I‘ve led an active life in dance and gym classes, I never really managed to lose much weight. Three years ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and medicated using hormonal pills to help control my weight, but it stayed the same.

About 2 years go, I gained some weight, climbing from 63 kg to 78 kg. I was very sad and discouraged because my clothes no longer fit. I felt fat and because of that, I didn‘t feel like doing anything.

I started looking for other weight loss options. Eventually, I discovered the gastric balloon procedure and I began looking for clinics that offered this service. Based on the good reviews and positive comments, I got in touch with OB Clinic in Prague and Mediczech.

Tina quickly assisted me with all the information that I would need. She knew everything and replied quite quickly. The whole process was easy and very straight forward. I felt secure and so I decided to go ahead with it.

I had my procedure at the end of September 2017. The placement of the balloon took approximately 30 minutes. I was under analgosedation with local anaesthetic in my throat and stayed for one night at the hospital.

Sincerely, the first 3 days were very difficult for me. I vomited everything and had nausea and gas. I couldn't eat and also had discomfort when sleeping. However, all these symptoms are normal with having a foreign object inside the body.

Within two weeks I was eating crushed healthy foods that were staying in my stomach and I also felt better when taking my prescribed medication. After two weeks, everything was fine and I was getting back to normal.

Now, 6 months later, I am very happy with the results. In March 2018, the balloon was removed using the same method as its placement. I managed to lose 11 kilos. I stayed only 2 hours at the clinic this time.

As I mentioned before, my metabolism is slower because of my hypothyroid problem, so I think that without this complication I could have lost more. In addition to seeing myself better aesthetically, I have much more energy and even my dietary habits are completely different.

Although I don’t still have the balloon, my limbic habits remain the same as when I had it. I still eat in small quantities without going hungry.

I am very happy with my results and sincerely completely recommend the services of this clinic.

All the staff in general were very friendly and professional. They were always well aware of me and my condition even when I no longer had the balloon in place.

Story of Mrs. Jennie, who's life got changed thanks to an abdominal surgery

I managed to loose 45kg/99.2 pounds. The abdominal surgery in May 2016 has changed my life. I've never been in Prague but, I didn't hesitate to come all the way from Scotland for a consultation.

When I started to look for a surgeon who would do my surgery- abdominoplasty- Dr. Zarubova assured me, that it was possible. I sent photos for a consultation to Miss Kristýna Halířova and filled in a form with my medical history. Everything got approved and I was able to get my plane ticket to the Czech Republic. I had never visited this country before but that didn't stop me from coming all the way from Scotland for my consultation and surgery. For some people it might sound scary but all the communication with Tina was problem free and completely clear, there was no reason to be worried.

Doctor Lucie Zárubová was very honest with me. She listened very carefully to my story and wishes and explained what was possible and what wasn't. During the consultation she examined my body closely and also reassured me. We went over every detail of the upcoming surgery.

She is very professional and self-confident. Probably because she is a woman and understands how hard it is to feel beautiful and like a woman again after a long life in an obese and not pretty body. She said she would correct my belly and so she did.

Doctor Zárubová said she will help to put my body back in order and as she said she did. The results are way better than I would ever imagine. Her surgical skills made my life better in many aspects. She is a very talented surgeon- nice, thoughtful but most importantly she has very skilled hands! I am still wondering how to describe it by words. I have been visiting the OB clinic for almost three years and the infinite kindness and absolute professionalism is unbelievable. I underwent three surgeries - liposuction of thighs twice and thigh lift. Dr. Martin Skala is incredibly nice person, a great professional with human behaviour and big heart.

Right from the moment I booked the surgery I received great service from the personal manager providing me with full information, they also sent texts to my mobile reminding me of the preoperative examination. When you get to the clinic, there's a personal assistant for you – a young girl, sort of a friend who accompanies you and informs you of what is going to happen.

The day after she also stops by to make sure you are alright and checks if you need any help, she also helps with the paperwork at the reception. Nurses at the clinic are brilliant, always ready to help. Dr. Skala is a very professional and pleasant man. I underwent breast surgery last month and have only good things to say. I had asymmetrical breasts and the doctor has done my new boobs exactly according to the picture I showed him. My new breasts look very natural, he really knows what he is doing. He has golden hands and he's a master of stitching.

It's been two weeks since the surgery and my scars are nearly invisible. I was so scared of the postoperative care but now my scars are so well healed, I nearly don't know about it. Moreover; I greatly appreciate the personal approach of the doctor, I had a consultation before the surgery and also in the theater he talked to me before I fell asleep. He also visited me after the surgery in the ICU hall, he wanted to know how I was doing. The next day he personally changed the dressing, prepared my release form and did my check up as well. He does all the work by himself and doesn't leave his duties for the other clinic staff which is unfortunately very common at some other clinics. I will always remember my stay at the clinic. The staff is wonderful and they pay great attention to you and are very kind to every client, even when you are just a normal person, you get full VIP service not like at some other clinics where you are not treated like a client if you are not celebrity. You know the feeling when you stand in front of the mirror and there are parts of you which you don't like? Where the ravages of time have left their work and one thinks, “Oh, you have to do something with yourself!!!” My first decision was Ultherapy at a clinic in Prague for the price of 26,000 CZK.

They use a laser method so there's no scar and no pain, but also there is no result. After, there was only pain and a waste of money, so don't go for this method..I don’t recommend it!!!! After that first disappointment I told to myself, “OK, now try the knife, no lasers anymore. If I really want to change something it must be serious, not just trying something to see if it will work or not!”

So I was browsing the internet and found MediCzech and OB Klinika. I called there, and on the other end of phone was a very kind receptionist. I was pleasantly greeted, and she transferred me to a dear lady, Mrs. Tina. One word led to another, and the next day I was surprised to meet a really nice man- MUDr. Skála. He assured me that they are creating immediate miracles. And really, it was true! In 3 days, I underwent breast uplift with enlargement.

Today, I stand before the mirror and I don’t want to leave because my breasts are the nicest parts of my body. Every morning when I wake up, I am touching my breasts to make sure they are really there, because I felt it was just a dream. What beautiful breasts I have now! Because of this, I would like to say big thanks to MUDr. Skála. He is not only a doctor, he is an artist!!

My trip to Prague was a pleasure from start to finish! I was treated like a VIP throughout and nothing was too much trouble. Tina was there to accompany me through every step at the clinic and even brought me a box of dvd's in English when I had to stay overnight! My English speaking assistant was always ready to support me in anything I needed post op.

Dr. Skala is a consummate professional and is so clear and informative about the whole process. I wasn't worried about any of the swelling or bruising after the surgery as I was told exactly what to expect. I followed their instructions about using ice packs and sitting up in bed for a couple of days, so the bruising healed nicely.

I am thrilled with the results! The scars were easily covered with makeup after a couple of weeks and now they are almost invisible.

I highly recommend this clinic and will have no hesitation in visiting again as I know I can trust them with every aspect of my care.

The reason I chose this surgery is that from 2013 to 2014 I had decided to lose 30 kilograms, as this was how much I had initially thought I was overweight. I ended up losing a total of around 42 kilograms. I lost this weight over a short span of time and unfortunately, due to lack of research, I did not know that this would leave me with a great deal of excess skin. Even if it were the case that I had lost this weight over a longer period, I probably would still have the excess skin.

Every time I looked in the mirror I knew that eventually the skin had to go so I started looking for options. By the time you are reading this, you probably already know that there is no real solution to excess skin except for plastic surgery. If you are lucky, the excess skin will contract a small amount over a long time and I waited a long time and my skin didn't change.

I chose to get the surgery done abroad as I had never travelled before, and prices of plastic surgery are extremely inflated in New Zealand (my home country). I begun looking for options and decided to use a company which would do the organising of the surgery for me. I did this for two reasons. One is that English is my first, and only language. Therefore, getting surgery overseas was not something I wanted to risk without dealing with professionals. The second reason is that I wanted to feel safe, and it was hard for me to gauge, rate and find feedback on the other options that I was exploring. You may look at the many great reviews that MediCzech has already recieved.

I had emailed many other surgons and organisations but chose MediCzech as their responses were the most professional, and the plan I was to follow was clear and understandable. You will understand what I mean if you decide to contact them. I was dealing with Tina at the time and there was no language barrier whatsoever. I already felt safe.

I had organised a whole holiday travelling all over Europe ending with the plastic surgery, so that I essentially achieved two goals at once.The second stop on the holiday was Prague. I just wanted to check out the facility out to see how everything would workd. My expectations were easily exceeded as I saw the private hospital I would be staying in. Lucy showed me around and explained everything perfectly. It was actually a really fun experience to meet Tina, who I had been emailing, and Lucy, who I had seen on the MediCzech website.

I then had some of the best experiences of my life exploring Europe, with many of the highlights being in Prauge (the most unique city I have seen yet). This is another reason to seriously consider MediCzech as being your medical facilitator. The city looks like it comes out of a fairytale.

As I am writing this it is the 5th of June, and my surgery is 2 days gone. As for the surgery itself, it went extraordinarily well. I experienced no pain, had a very interesting roommate. I was walking more than most patients would. As all surgeries can differ, I cannot guarantee this for you, as everyone is different and I just happened to react really well with the medicine provided, and the surgeon was extremely skilled. What I can guarantee is that you will experience a very caring and professional level of service from the MediCzech staff. Me and my father both had the pleasure of dealing with MediCzech and we agreed that it would be hard to find this kind of service in our home country.

The service can be exemplified by my father's arrival in Prague. I had organised last minute for him to come and help me the surgery. I told Tina about this, and to keep it short, she promtly re-organised my accomodation to allow for my father's arrival. I was also really happy to be surprised by him in the hospital, which Tina had arranged as well. These are a couple of examples but the months preceeding and days after the surgery can be filled with examples of the same service. Over this time I asked many questions and they were all answered by Tina and Lucy, or the answers were found out for me.

Two days have gone, it is a Friday, and Lucy is due to visit me tomorrow evening just to see how things are going. I can contact them as they have provided me with a phone and am now not worried about flying, as I have a certificate provided by MediCzech, showing the surgery I have undergone, which informs airline organisations of my special situation.

To try and keep it short, I couldn't be happier, and I really couldn't have expected things to go better. I'm sure lot of this is to do with my choice of MediCzech as my medical provider.

I lost about 12 kg in total with gastric balloon. It was difficult the first week after having it inserted. I couldn't keep anything down even liquids and became weak and dizzy. I started losing weight immediately as I couldn't eat anyways. The balloon settled in after a week and my body adjusted.

I felt full after a few mouthfulls of food and my diet changed as well. I chose gastric balloon because I didn't want to lose too much weight. I wanted to lose about 15 - 20 kg in total but I didn't hit the target of 15 kg because I went on holiday and didn't stick to my healthy diet. I found that after giving birth to my two children I had been left with excess, saggy skin and my stomach muscles had not joined back together, leaving me with a bulging stomach at all times. As I am a very slim build I became very self-conscious, which was made worse by one person innocently asking when my third child was due! My GP could see my concerns were valid but after applying for NHS surgery, which was declined, and subsequently appealing the decision he was unable to do more for me.

After deciding to have abdominoplasty surgery privately (and realising that it would be too expensive in the UK!) I researched online into surgery abroad. After looking at a few countries I decided the Czech Republic would be a good option and found Mediczech’s website, amongst others. I was comforted by the fact the clinic was geared up for tourist surgery. The website gave good advice and told me what I needed to know about the surgery itself. After reading the reviews of other clients I decided to make my arrangements with Mediczech. From my initial contact with Tina at the clinic I found her responses to my emails to be quick and efficient. All my questions were answered and I felt very safe travelling to Prague for my surgery, with my husband and two young children.

The clinic is modern, clean and very well run. My meetings with all the medical staff, both before and after my surgery, were carried out in English so there was no real language barrier. Tina’s English is excellent and she is very friendly and approachable, so I found it easy to ask her about any concerns I had, both before and after surgery and also once I had returned to the UK.

The only real down side for me was the food! I am vegan, which I advised the clinic of from the start, and although the staff did their best for my dietary requirement I was left with no protein source in any meal for my entire 3 day stay and I found the food which should have been hot to be cold and often very salty. Thankfully I didn’t feel like eating much for a couple of days anyway but I would have appreciated the food to be a bit more appetising and nutritious.

I had no problems with the surgery itself and my post-op recovery was without any infections or abnormal reactions.

I am so glad I had the operation done. 6 months on and I feel and look so much better than before. The muscles are strong and the scar has almost faded away in places. I am back to wearing clothes that I felt unable to wear for the last 6 years and I don’t have to hide myself under layers.

When I saw pictures of myself from Christmas and my summer holiday in 2012, I sat and cried and realized how much weight I had gained over the years but also how unhappy I felt in myself. This had affected my confidence massively and I hadn’t been happy for a long time but struggled to stick to diets and exercise routines. I was a size 18/20 and weighed 14st 4lbs which at 5ft 2inch is significantly over weight.

I kept looking at pictures of me in my wedding dress and instead of the feeling of happiness I was overcome by the feeling of sadness with the way I looked and decided enough was enough and I had to do something about it. I started to do some research on the different surgical options available and the Gastric Plication seemed to be the most effective and permanent option that was less invasive then the other surgical procedures.

I conducted thorough research on Mediczech and after lengthy discussions with their advisors I knew this was the right procedure for me so I booked the surgery and had this done at the end of April 2013.

The procedure was done without any complication and the initial 48hours were very painful but I was well looked after by the team at Mediczech. The stomach contractions and cramping were very uncomfortable but it did start to subside after about 10days. I did continue to feel further stomach cramping but this was becoming less uncomfortable as the weeks went by.

I followed the aftercare instructions very carefully because over stretching the stomach caused huge discomfort and sickness. Over the six weeks of recovery I began to stabilize my diet and eat healthily but very small portions and the weight started dropping off. By the end of July I had lost 28lbs.

I have never enjoyed working out in the gym but I knew that if I wanted to achieve my goal of losing 70lbs then I needed to combine the operation with a good diet with exercise otherwise it was a waste of money having the surgery and I wasn’t prepared to let myself down.

It’s been eight months since my surgery and I have lost a total of 56lbs. I eat three meals a day but ensure the diet is balanced and the portion size is much smaller. I also introduced green teas and vitamins and go swimming and visit the gym three times a week. I actually really enjoy going to the gym now whereas before I hated it. I have noticed my energy levels are so much higher and my complexion is glowing.

The inner confidence this has built in me is beyond any words that can express. It has made such a difference to me personally and I am determined to keep going and reach my goal by the end of February 2014. By reaching my goal weight will mean that I will fit into size 8 clothing which is something I haven’t been able to do since I was a teenager. (The results may vary and are individual.)

I had both eyes and ears done at the same time, sounds like a lot but the procedure only took 2 hours or so and was done in very comfortable and safe surroundings. My experience in Prague was very good. The only thing I would say is more communication between home and the reps after surgery. You will be asleep and uncomfortable for a few hours, so I couldn't call home.

The nurses are amazing - they do not let you suffer if you are in pain they will do anything I asked - which included me buzzing them every 5 minutes, they never got angry. They spoke little English but they understood me. My surgeon had a very good bed-side manner. I am only 2 days post-op but I am very happy with everything. After my research, spending hours trawling the Internet trying to find the options I had for the weight loss surgery I wanted. I came across Professor Fried and MediCzech. Hi there, my name is Cynthia. I decided to have Abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck surgery, along with liposuction to remove excess skin and fatty tissue from above the bikini line. Pregnancy x4 and weight loss are two reasons behind my decision to have the surgery done. Because no amount of exercise will smooth or tighten the area back to the way it used to be.

I chose to have my surgery with Mediczech Clinic because it was recommended to me by my cousin who had some work done prior to myself. Her review of the clinic was second to none which made me more comfortable to contact them for my own consultation.

From the onset, you are made to feel welcome with no added pressure. My interactions with the assistants through to the surgeon himself was very reassuring. Once you have agreed to go ahead with a procedure, you are then expected to pay your deposit, then arrange your flight and forward details to the assistant who in turn would arrange a shuttle pick up from the airport straight to the clinic making the journey easy for you. Once you are through with your surgery, and have been discharged, arrangement for a taxi to pick you from the hotel to the airport is also arranged given you plenty of time to make your flight.

As a black African woman, I would recommend anyone thinking of having any form of cosmetic surgery to consider making contact with Mediczech Clinic and get some form of consultation done. I know you will not be disappointed for not only are they reasonable with their prices, they are clean, efficient and very welcoming too. I’m Paul and I had eyelid surgery done with MediCzech. I’m a very active, sporty person and have always done a lot of exercise – in general, I’m pretty happy with my physical appearance. However, I started to notice that my face was always looking tired and sad – even when I felt energetic and on top of things. I tried everything: cosmetics, friends’ tips – nothing worked. The procedure to get rid of this skin seemed pretty easy – but the price of the surgery was a real shock and something I just couldn’t justify.

Instead of having the surgery done in the UK, I started looking for a surgeon abroad and that’s how I found out about MediCzech. I requested a call-back and in two hours I was already speaking to Vera, the customer manager. She explained everything and answered all my questions in reassuring detail. She also informed me that there was a special offer that month which gave me a discount on the treatment – even better! Even including the price of flights and three nights’ accommodation, the cost of the treatment was only half the price I was quoted in the UK!

At Prague airport, a driver met me off the flight and I was taken to the Courtyard Marriott hotel where I was welcomed by a MediCzech representative, who gave me all the practical information I needed (what was going to happen during my stay, where the clinic was located etc.). I’d also booked a sightseeing tour, so in the afternoon I saw the historical city centre of Prague and was just amazed. It’s probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to.

The next morning, I was taken to the clinic, where I registered as a patient (with the help of my MediCzech assistant), had my tests done and finally met my surgeon, Dr. Satankova. The consultation was very well prepared; everything was explained clearly to me, in very good English. I chose the option of being operated on under intravenous sedation – it is less extreme than general anaesthetic, but, even so, I was fast asleep during the operation. I stayed at the clinic overnight and after the post-op check in the morning I returned to my hotel. I was a bit scared when I saw the swelling and bruising, but everyone assured me it was normal and the surgeon told me what to do. I flew back home with my sunglasses on, anyway, so was easily able to cover the bruising, which soon faded.

Although I travelled alone, I never felt like I was on my own, really – somebody from MediCzech was always making sure that I was fine, or checking if I needed something. All things considered, the whole experience was even better than I could have hoped for. The best thing about it is the way I look now – I look years younger and feel great!
