Photocomposite Fillings

Photocomposite fillings are used for small dental caries and also in the lateral section of the teeth in the case of loss of part of enamel as a result of injury – all thanks to the high aesthetic standard of this material.

Plastic fillings, which are composed of resin filled with ground glass, are progressively applied to the tooth and exposed to blue light in order to harden. As a result this procedure is somewhat more time consuming, but far more efficient than use of other filling materials. In the case of larger inter-dental cavities it is possible to extend the teeth and remove such gaps with composite.

The filling is not antibacterial and demands increased hygiene. Thanks to constant improvement of the quality of materials it is now also highly durable and the resulting aesthetic impression is excellent.
